Personal training—Pilates style—for strength, mobility, and balance that lasts.  Sessions are available both in person and virtually, so you can work around your busy schedule!

Ember Pilates is dedicated to providing a functional approach to fitness through personalized sessions and innovative programs. Our mission is to help individuals achieve their wellness goals while fostering a supportive and inclusive community.

What is Pilates?

Mat Pilates is a series of bodyweight movements that focus on mobility, balance, and strength.  As a low impact workout, Pilates is perfect for all levels.  Pilates focuses on movements that we don't get in our day to day activities, such as spinal mobility and core strength.  These exercises will help you to move more comfortably in your life. 

Ember Pilates class formats:

Beginner mat Pilates

Our beginner mat Pilates class is our Classical mat flow.  Based in the movement principals from Joseph Pilates himself, this class focuses on core stability, spinal mobility, and more!  Perfect for all levels, from novice to expert.

Mat Pilates

Our Mat Pilates class uses small apparatus to deepen your practice. We’ll use items like mini-balls, resistance bands, magic circles, light weights, and foam rollers.

This class is perfect for all levels—props are adjustable to gently support beginner modifications or intensify advanced moves.

Pilates x Strength

Pilates x Strength is our fusion class, combining classical Pilates foundations, and adding in resistance training, cardio, and more!  This class kicks it up a notch with a variety of props used throughout class.  This beat driven class will have you walking out feeling stronger, longer, and..... sweaty! 

Meet Amara

Amara is the founder and lead instructor for Ember Pilates. She has over ten years of teaching experience, and is certified through Power Pilates.  Amara is excited to bring Pilates to the Vancouver community!

Meet Marissa

Marissa is a mat Pilates instructor certified through Balanced Body.  Marissa loves utilizing Pilates as cross training for her other hobbies- power lifting and horse back riding!  From gym bros to horse girls, Marissa will have all the bases covered!
